Hakaristi - Hakaristi
I am a Filth & Violence fan, a huge one. For some odd reason I almost always skip over their Metal tapes when purchasing anything from them. I own all of the Power Electronics/Noise releases in either cassette or mp3 format but I have zero Metal tapes and just a few mp3's. When I received this I was blown away. Hakaristi, which means Swastika in Finnish, delivers 6 short tracks (C10 cassette) of utterly strange galloping Black Metal laced with a very unsettling atmosphere. There is a tight rope walk between Black Metal and Power Electronics (not "Black Noise", I am talking strictly P.E. and if you need to know the difference maybe you should leave this one alone) but Hakaristi does it better than any other attempts I have heard to date and they even throw in a RAC flavor to some tracks. This is also the only other band (Ildjarn being the other) that can pull off a song with only one riff. This tape will make an example out of you.
