Split - Volahn & Tukaaria

Split - Volahn & Tukaaria
I've heard better from Volahn. With that being said, their side of this cassette doesn't disappoint. It's a nod to fast paced first-wave Black Metal, especially the thrashier dirtier side of the old-school. Stormy guitars, blazing drum fills and blastbeats. Nothing more you could ask for. Tukaaria spills out nearly 12 minutes of headbanging Metal that traverses a lot of ground but, at its core, it reminds me of "Blood Fire Death," era Bathory especially when the clean vocals are exposed. They exude a chilling atmosphere and the gradually building blast of the war-drums spark memories. Nothing, by either band, is necessarily complex but they have a stunning aura about them.

  1. I agree with you. Not necessarily the Volahn material we've been waiting for the last couple of years but very solid none the less.
    Love the artwork.
The Tukaaria side is good too.
